Sincerely, Angelica Wright 1:00 PM
Sincerely, Angelica Wright is a two-act drama by David Barbour of Ashford, CT. Mr. Barbour, who will attend the reading, is the author of a number of one-act and full-length scripts, many of which have been produced by his theater company, Quiet Corner Drama Troupe.
John Carlyle is the wealthy owner of a ranch in Kansas. He and his wife previously lived in Denver, but moved to start over after his adulterous affair nearly ended their marriage. John is active in his church, but disappointed in his pastor’s recent preaching and decision-making, especially his appointment of Kevin Riley as an elder. A homeless woman has been found dead in a local motel. She left a suicide note which implies she knew John. Gossip and then accusations fly, and tensions rise as everyone waits for the truth to be revealed about Angelica Wright—and the whole town. A realistic drama, quiet and often intense. Rated PG for subject matter and some crude language.

The Dreadful Journal of Phoebe Weems is a two-act comedy drama for families, by local playwright and actor Michael Wilhelm. afO has premiered two of Mr. Wilhelm’s previous plays, Turtle Soup and Bentley.
Phoebe Weems has a problem: she is terrified of…well, basically, everything. But mostly she has a really vivid imagination and scares herself sleepless. A counselor suggests writing/drawing all her fears and “locking them” into a journal. But when her journal is stolen from school, Phoebe is even more afraid…her worst nightmares have been loosed on the world. Meanwhile, she deals with bullies and forges a surprising alliance with the scariest person in school. Faith and love play major roles in helping Phoebe to overcome her fears at last.
