afO has partnered with First Missionary Church to begin an after school school theatre program at Harrison Hill Elementary School. We kicked off in October of 2019 and ended the first session in December 2019.
Students learned theatre basics during an eight week course. The class was made up of 15 3-5th grade students. Each week focused on a specific skill and games and exercises were taught to reinforce the skill. Students were able to show off what they had learned in a final presentation in December for their parents and educators.
COVID suspended this program for the 2020-2021 school year. We are retooling the program and looking forward to getting back to working with students in the upcoming school year.
